Step inside Carmel’s story… Celebrate the women who shaped Carmel's architecture on the 32nd Annual Carmel House Tour. Presented in collaboration with the AIA Monterey Bay Chapter, this year's Designing Women theme honors the architects, designers, and builders behind the village's most distinctive homes. Explore eight private residences on a self-guided tour, meet knowledgeable docents, and experience a weekend of companion events celebrating design and history. Proceeds benefit the Carmel Heritage Society & American Institute of Architects. If you are a Carmel Heritage Society member, check your latest newsletter for your ticket discount code or join today! Opening Lecture: Friday July 17, 6pm

Add insight to your tour experience… Join us for An Evening with Alissandra Dramov at the Carmel Foundation. Kick off the 32nd annual Carmel House Tour weekend with a special lecture by architectural historian, author, and Carmel-by-the-Sea council member Alissandra Dramov. Drawing on her deep knowledge of the village's architectural heritage — and her book Historic Homes and Inns of Carmel-by-the-Sea — Alissandra will explore the women architects, designers, and builders who helped shape Carmel's distinctive character, setting the stage for this year's "Designing Women" House Tour. A wonderful opportunity to hear from one of Carmel's foremost local historians.

Documentary: Sunday July 19, 1pm

A chance to see a rarely screened documentary… Close out Carmel House Tour weekend with a film and conversation celebrating Julia Morgan, California's first licensed female architect and the visionary behind more than 700 buildings — among them Hearst Castle and the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove. A fitting tribute to this year's "Designing Women" theme, Morgan's story is one of extraordinary talent, persistence, and lasting influence on the architecture of the American West. Thank you to The Carmel Foundation for hosting these events. Discount tickets for the lecture and screening are available to members of the Carmel Heritage Society, the American Institute of Architects, and The Carmel Foundation below.
