We
are now conducting walking tours of Carmel usually on the
first
Saturday of each month at 9:30AM. Our walks are based on the historical
walks designed and led by Kay Prine for many years. The greatest
challenge has been getting the word out - so keep our walks
in mind when you have visitors (or when you’re just
wondering what to do on a lovely Saturday morning). Taking
a stroll through Carmel and lingering for lunch may just be
the thing! The cost is a $10 donation per person for the 1
1⁄2-hour guided walk.
Carmel Heritage Society will offer everyone who takes the
walking tour half off the price of lunch at:
- Flaherty’s
-
The
Grill on Ocean Avenue
-
Merlot Bistro
-
Village Corner
Special walks can be arranged for groups. A group of visitors
from the Fullerton Arboretum (pictured above) took a customized,
horticulture-oriented walk with Kay Prine and Alice Englander.
They continued on to visit the Tor House with Jim Gallagher and
Renate Wunsch.
Guided walks are a fun and rewarding activity and we can use
more volunteers. Call us if you’re interested in leading
walks!
Kay Prine designed the Carmel Heritage Walk . She was raised
in Carmel and loves to share tidbits of information about
her life in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
